Dear Fellow Members and Families of the Belvedere Club and the Belvedere Golf Club:

As we approach the holiday season, we invite you to remember the wonderful young people employed at the Belvedere Club and Belvedere Golf Club through a tax deductible contribution to the Belvedere Scholarship Fund. Michigan residents are also eligible for a State of Michigan tax credit.

Over the last eight years, this fund has helped 18 young people with college scholarships. Last year the fund was able to award $32,300 in scholarships to a total of 11 deserving members of our wait, maintenance and golf staff who met stringent academic, character, and community service standards.

This excellent program is a major help to staff who have shown loyalty to the Belvedere Club and the Belvedere Golf Club, and can only be maintained through the continued generosity of our members. Our current grantmaking balance is $13,000 going into the new year. For the coming year, we have previous commitments of $15,100. We would like to award a minimum of an additional $7,500 next summer. This means we need to raise at least $10,000. Our goal for this year's donations is $25,000.

The Belvedere Scholarship Fund is operated as a fund of the Charlevoix County Community Foundation. We have two fund accounts: 1) a permanent endowment fund, which will grow over time, from which only the interest is used to provide scholarships, and 2) a grantmaking fund, 100% of which is available at any time for scholarship awards.
